Made Up

I've always been a minimalist when it comes to makeup...These days I'm lucky if I remember tinted moisturizer and gloss, though a little odd considering I'm a nail polish fanatic-you'd think I would go the extra mile and indulge in it all right?? But I vow to make more of an effort to explore the possibilities because like clothing, cosmetics can transform & enhance.

Sonia Kashuk's line for Target has this seasons most popular shades & almost every type of makeup brush ever invented for extremely affordable prices. I just may have found my new obsession.

Classic Wednesday

I hope everyone has gotten over this hump ok, it will be the weekend before we know it!
This week has been oddly warm, and I'm taking full advantage of it by going bare legged while I still can. I had the urge to go for a more classic look today. It's time to steer away from my dark colored wardrobe comfort zone (blah!).

Button Up

There are plenty of inexpensive ways to update your A/W wardrobe from coupling a summer dress with tights & boots to changing the buttons on an old coat. I bought this from F21 last year on major clearance (all of the buttons were either falling off or missing) with every intention of changing them. As time got away from me it was pushed further into my closet, ultimately reaching neglect, and before I knew it my denim jacket was in heavy rotation. While unpacking some cold weather gear I recalled why I'd fallen for it and rushed to the nearest fabric store. I bought 5 buttons for a mere $20 and it took me all of 15 minutes to do following this eHow tutorial. I'm not big on cold weather but I'm eager to show it off with some long black leather gloves & and bright scarf! What a fun way to start the week off :-).

Weekend Love

The makings of my perfect weekend consisted of some much needed relaxation & retail therapy.
I wore my new cardigan, posted here, to the movies & I am SO in love, I never want to take it off! I found these boots while rummaging through my moms closet-they are hers from college! Isn't it lovely how trends(worth repeating)repeat themselves??

Current

Here are the remaining purchases from my shopping trip earlier this week...I am currently lounging in my alum hoodie & some sweat pants, not very note (or fashion) worthy, but these are:

Camel Woolen Cardigan from Zara

Sheer Ruffle Dress from H&M

The camel cardigan is very cape like and can (and will) be worn with virtually any(and every)thing. The dress is soooo versatile-I'm thinking denim jacket/thigh-highs/boots or maybe pea coat/lacy tights/patent leather pumps? Suggestions???

Work to Play

Boyfriend Blazer, Knit Blouse, & Printed Skirt from F21, Nude Pumps from Steve Madden, Bag from Topshop

I love my career clothing...but when it's time to go out (especially after work) who wants to be caught dead in a pantsuit or a constricting skirt (not that there's anything wrong with those who do)? After being in the same clothing for 8 hours, easily swapping out pieces for more fun after hours is a simple way to go from work to play. Originally I wore a tank under the blouse and some simple black pumps for a more work appropriate look. Unfortunately 5 inch nude heels and a sheer top aren't what I'd consider appropriate in my profession.

To be honest, this was one of those outfits I threw on in a whim this morning and it 'just worked.' The skirt was an item picked up on my mini spree yesterday and everything else sort of fell into place. Don't you just love when that happens??

Chummy Chocolate

Love and Beauty Nail Polish by F21: Brown

I stopped off downtown on my way back uptown after work today to do some window shopping...which resulted in the purchase of a few fall items-I need them I swear! When I picked up this polish I just knew to expect a quirky name to go with it, like chummy chocolate or bashful brownie. I've obviously been living too long in OPI Land because I was taken aback by the very generic "Brown" labeled on the sticker, but whatever.

I usually go for the extremely dark, almost black shades for fall, but I'm very fond of warm earthy toned nails, and for less than $2, I couldn't walk away empty handed. I'm still on the hunt for the perfect olive green, suggestions anyone?
